Damage Survey

Includes a detailed description of damages caused to vessel’s hull, machinery or other «onboard» equipment; description of repair work, evidenced with photos. Upon the Client’s request, calculation of general losses and repair expenses can be performed.

Hatch covers watertightness test

Is used to ascertain whether ship’s hatch seals and covers are watertight. The test is performed before loading. Water or chalk is sprayed vigorously on all areas of the hatch cover joints and hold seal areas. The process usually takes half an hour after which the hatch covers are opened and the empty holds are inspected for water ingress. Then the surveyor accepts or rejects the vessel for loading. Often the test is conducted in conjunction with the vessel’s technical condition survey.

Holds / Tank Readiness / Cleanliness Inspection

Thorough visual examination of holds’ inner surfaces and hatch covers before loading to determine whether they are suitable for carriage of the intended cargo and meet internationally accepted cargo transportation norms and requirements. Specified requirements of the customer for cleanliness are also taken into consideration. Each hold is individually inspected, accepted or rejected by the attending surveyor. The inspection is supported with corresponding certificates and photos.

On / Off Hire Survey

Inspection of the current condition of cargo holds, hatches, loading gear etc. prior to change of owners, time charter etc. The findings are summarized in a detailed Final Report with photos that can be delivered via email or by DHL Express. Bunker survey of a vessel is often performed in conjunction with on/off-hire survey. The survey is provided with Bunker Survey Certificate that can be delivered via email or by DHL Express.

Sealing / Unsealing Hatch Covers & Entries

applying/breaking seals to/from every access to cargo compartments of a vessel to prevent unauthorized access to the vessel’s cargo compartments. The work is followed by issuing of «Hold Closure Seal Certificate» with a detailed description of each seal location.

Salinity Test

Solution of silver nitrate is used to determine the presence of chloride deposits on hold’s internal steel surfaces prior to loading a cargo of steel products in order to prevent possible salt contamination of the cargo. On request “Holds Salinity Test Certificate” is issued in addition to Final Report. The test could also be performed as a part of On-Hire Condition Survey.

Dry Cargo Supervision & Inspection

Draft Survey

to determine bulk cargo quantity by means of observing draft marks of a vessel before and after loading/discharge and carrying out certain calculations taking into account the ship’s hydrostatic data and some other key factors, such as sea water density, changes in quantity of ballast between initial and final draft readings, sea conditions at the time of survey (pitches and swell) and others.We perform permanent control under loading operations at all stages of loading/discharge from initial draft survey to final draft survey. Also upon client’s request intermediate draught survey can be arranged.The survey is performed in accordance with the guidelines and rules as set by the U.N. /ECE Uniform Code of Standards and Procedures for the Performance of Draught Surveys. We use internationally recognized methods and modern equipment for measuring the necessary variables for an accurate outcome.Report includes draft calculations and a tank sounding report for the ballast / fresh water or fuel tanks with a Letter of Reserve, if necessary.

Cargo Damage Survey

We estimate the extent of damage, strive to find out the root cause of the damage and examine the possibilities for repair, in order that the cargo may be accepted suitable for use without detriment. The survey includes a detailed report evidenced with photos.

Tally Service

cargo piece count while loading or discharging, supported by daily tally reports and Final Tally Report. Paint separation or marking of the cargo loaded/discharged can also be performed. If required, we can monitor weather conditions during loading, to insure that the cargo is not damaged by inclement weather conditions.

Pre-loading Cargo Survey

Is inspection of general condition of various kinds of cargo before and/or during loading with noting any visible damages, physical defects, and structural abnormalities of goods. Our findings are endorsed by the Master of a vessel and inserted into Bills of Lading / Mate’s Receipts. The survey is provided with preliminary and final reports with photos.

Quantity / Quality Verification of Goods

Includes visual quality inspections, taking samples, packing and shipment of samples for further quality analysis at a laboratory. Attending during the whole loading or discharging operations to make sure that the cargo is properly handled and rejecting the cargo that doesn’t meet the agreed specifications. The survey is followed by issuing of Certificate of Quality/Quantity that can be delivered via email or by DHL Express.

Re-Weighing

Checkup of cargo weight by re-weighing each railway wagon, road truck or other means of conveyance using shore scales on terminal during loading/discharging operations, supported by re-weighing calculations and tables, determination of average weight of bags, boxes etc.; issuing of Weight Certificate that can be delivered via email or by DHL Express.

Superintendence of Dry Bulk Cargo

Attending during the whole period of loading / discharge of grains, oilseeds, and pulses to make sure that weight and contractual quality of the product is maintained at all stages. Involves 24 hour control over cargo operations, noting all stoppages, rejecting cargo that does not comply with Principal’s instructions, contractual specification, or mutually agreed Standards of specification and quality. The inspection is supported with daily and final reports with photographs.

Bunker Survey/sampling

Is establishing of quantity of all bunkers on board at time of survey that involves:
Pre-delivery tank measurements on both the bunker tanker and the receiving vessel;
Proper fuel sampling procedures;
Post-delivery tank measurements on bunker tanker and receiving vessel;
Photos on sampling;
Re-calculation of quantity delivered and received based on tested density;
